A shorter queue at the counter

In a takeaway, every minute counts. At lunchtime the queue reaches the door, and anyone with only half an hour’s break turns around when they see a long line. Every guest who walks away is a lost sale.

With online ordering for pickup, part of that queue moves ahead of time. The guest orders from the office or on the way, as soon as possible or for a set time. It is already paid. At the counter, they just grab their bag.

For your team, that means less time at the till, fewer questions and fewer paper slips. The whole order is on the kitchen panel, with every sauce and extra.

An ordering system for takeaways and döner shops

OwnGo is your restaurant’s own ordering page. For a takeaway or döner shop, these points matter most.

  • Kitchen panel in the browser: Runs on any tablet or phone. Every new order arrives with a loud alert, even when the grill is sizzling.
  • Countdown and pickup time: A countdown shows how long you have to accept. Your kitchen decides when the food will be ready.
  • Menu in Turkish and German: Plus English, Italian, Spanish and French. Guests order in their own language.
  • Sold out in one click: If a dish runs out, you take it off sale in the admin straight away.
  • Allergens: The 14 major allergens under the LMIV (EU food information regulation) are shown on every dish.

We do the setup, free of charge. You send us your menu, and we build the website, menu and kitchen panel. You only confirm your Stripe account.

Sauces, extras and sides

Hardly anyone orders a döner without a special request. No onions, extra hot, with garlic sauce. On the phone, some of that easily gets lost. Online, the guest picks it themselves, and the kitchen sees it in black and white.

  • Variants: For example döner in bread, as a dürüm or as a plate, each with its own price.
  • Extras: More meat, cheese or an extra sauce, selectable right on the dish.
  • “Goes well with” in the cart: The system suggests a side and a drink, such as fries and ayran.

Once everything is set up, you manage prices, variants and extras yourself in the admin. If the price of the dürüm changes, it is updated in seconds. When a new dish goes on the menu, you add it yourself with its price and allergens.

Lunch deals for offices

If your takeaway is near offices, the lunch break is your most important trade. Two features help here.

  • Scheduled offers: A lunch deal that starts at a set time on weekdays and ends again on its own. You don’t have to remember it every day.
  • Scheduled orders: Someone whose break starts at 12:30 orders in the morning for 12:30. You see the order in advance and can plan for it.

On top of that there are vouchers, for example for a nearby office that orders regularly. You share the link once, and after that the whole team orders directly from you.

How a fixed monthly price compares with commission is explained in the guide to online ordering without commission. Run your own figures in the commission calculator.

Card payments only online

Through OwnGo, guests pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The money goes straight to you through your own Stripe account; OwnGo never touches it. The card is only charged once your kitchen accepts the order. An order that is rejected or never answered costs the guest nothing.

Small orders, honestly calculated

Takeaway orders are often small, so the payment fee is worth a closer look. An example with assumed figures: on a €12 order, Stripe’s fee is €0.18 plus €0.25, so €0.43. That is around 3.6% of the amount. There is no OwnGo commission on top; you only pay the fixed monthly price.

A QR code on the bag

Your best online guests are already standing at your counter today. For them to order online next time, they just need to know they can.

  • You get a QR code for bags, flyers and tables. Anyone who scans it lands straight on your menu.
  • At launch, we add the ordering link to your Google profile. Anyone who searches for your name can order right away.
  • The ordering page can run on your own domain.

You can keep delivery platforms in parallel. They bring new guests; your own site serves your regulars. You’ll find an example from Berlin on the page for Berlin restaurants, and what it looks like in a pizzeria in the guide for pizzerias.

If you have questions, you can reach us while you are open, evenings and weekends included. Write to us and we’ll get back to you in person within one working day.
